A magical light art route around the Almere Weerwater
During the autumn break of 2024, from 25 October to 3 November, the third edition of ALLUMINOUS will take place; the Almere light art festival where you can discover various light artworks in a magical walk of approximately two hours around the Weerwater. After the great success of the ALLUMINOUS editions in 2022 and 2023 with 30,000 and 34,000 visitors, the light art festival is back with ten new light artworks, the cycle route, the shuttle boat and a packed fringe programme with music performances, activities and catering.
ALLUMINOUS is a free festival. ALLUMINOUS starts every evening at 6 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, the artworks can be seen until 11 p.m. From Sunday to Thursday, the artworks can be seen until 10 p.m. There is no start or end point for the light art route. You can start the walk at any point of the Rondje Weerwater.
The best ALLUMINOUS experience is when you walk the route. For those who prefer to cycle, there is a cycle route that deviates partly from the walking route. At short distances from the works of art, there are bicycle sheds where you can park your bike when you go to see the work of art. The shuttle boat sails between the Esplanade jetty and the Hortus jetty. By taking the shuttle boat, you can split the route into 2 parts and walk half a route.

Enjoy Almere's musical talent during your ALLUMINOUS walk! In the magical Utopia Bostheater, a talented Almere band or singer-songwriter plays every day. New is the DJ stage on the Hortus catering square. Almere's DJ talent provides the best danceable beats there. Everything is programmed by Poppodium de Meester.

Photography Call
We are calling all amateur photographers and Instagram stars! Send us your perfect ALLUMINOUS photo and we may use your photo as an official ALLUMINOUS image on our social media. Send your photo to info@alluminous.nl with your name and email address) and who knows, you might be the unexpected but official ALLUMINOUS photographer this year.

ALLUMINOUS offers music groups from the region the opportunity to perform unamplified at the catering square in the Maastrichtkwartier. Interested groups can email sandra@alluminous.nl. Poppodium de Meester provides the music programming at the catering square at the Bostheater. Bands, DJs and singer-songwriters can register with the Almere pop venue via email address info@poppodiumdemeester.nl
